About Us

2018 is our 15 year anniversary for the course. Come out and celebrate with us!

The Intimidator Golf Course is a wonderful venue tucked back in the woods of Barton Township. Opened in 2003, this 9-hole course is open to the public and located in the Huron-Manistee National Forest. Carved out of the ancient hills of western Michigan by Mark and Tracy Lenahan, this 60 acre course will give a savvy golfer a run for their money. When the Lenahan's started construction on the course back in 1998, the locals where wondering why in the heck are they building a golf course back here. Now those same local folks pack up their clubs and give the course another try! The name Intimidator came about from Mark's fondness for Dale Earnhardt Senior's style and also because he wanted to make the course challenging. Aside from the wildlife, this well designed course is meant to challenge top golfers and also provide a demanding and fun experience for players of all abilities.

This is when we broke ground. The bulldozers, tractors and chainsaws were working hard. The family, local folks and other workers gathered rocks, hauled timber and brush and refined the grounds into what it is today.

2003 is when the course opened. Slowly the folks started playing and the Intimidator gained attention.

Today the course is running well. In 2014 it received the "Osceola County People's Choice Award". It hosts several yearly tournaments and public outings. The Thursday Men's League is the best around running 22 weeks a season. Many times during the year you can see the Reed City Golf Team practicing for their next competition.

  • A wonderful 9 hole course experience

The Intimidator is not just your run of the mill 9 hole course. The doglegs, hills, hazards make this course a challenge starting on the very first hole. Six of the holes have very large pine trees in the fairway to make the hole that much intimidating. Give us a try...........oh, and bring lots of golf balls.

  • Large chipping and putting green

We offer a large putting and chipping green superior to none. This green duplicates the greens on the golf course (which stay in great shape). This is what golfers expect in a quality chipping green.

  • Tee Times......or......Not

Many times you can drive right up and get on the course. Last year might have seen a bit of a change, but normally you can get right out. Don't hesitate to call just to make sure a tee time is not needed 231-832-5616.

  • Book an Outing

The course handles many public outings throughout the year. We always have some empty dates for more. They are reasonably priced to meet your needs. Give us a call and set up an outing!
